Fort Belknap Indian Reservation, just 40 miles south of the Canadian border in northern Montana, is homeland to the Gros Ventre (Aaniih) and the Assiniboine (Nakoda) Tribes. Hays, which is located in the southwest area of the Reservation, has been working closely with USAquatics, Inc. and DSGW Architecture to create a brand-new community center for the Fort Belknap Community.

Unique to this project, the Hays Wellness Center will use propane gas to heat the pool and the building will be heated off geothermal energy. The Hays Wellness Center wanted a therapy pool with the possibility for Learn to Swim programs. USAquatics came up with a design to create the ideal center for the Fort Belknap community. The pool features a zero-depth entry, 3-lane 25-yard lap pool measuring from 3'6'' to 4'6'', and an 8-person spa, with the possibility to install features in the future. Hays Wellness Center will also contain a regenerative media filtration system, which helps cut back a significant amount of water use, saves spaces and cost with a smaller footprint in mechanical room and filters down smaller particles than tradition sand filters.

This project is still in the design phase, check back for updates on Hays Wellness Center.
